Hi, I’m Scott, owner and head coach at Self Liberation Strength. I know what it’s like to feel stiff, weak, or out of shape — I wasn’t naturally athletic, and I didn’t start my fitness journey until my mid-20s through martial arts and kickboxing.
Over the last 20+ years, I’ve trained in everything from kettlebells and barbells to Bulgarian bags and maces, and studied mobility systems like Functional Range Conditioning and resistance stretching. This blend of strength and mobility training transformed me: now in my late 40s, I’m stronger, more mobile, and feel better than I did in my 20s.
I founded Self Liberation Strength so busy professionals don’t have to waste years figuring it out. My mission is simple: help you move better, get stronger, and feel younger again — without injury or wasted time. Together we can Get Mobile, Get Strong, Get Healthy, and Get Free!

With a rich background in martial arts as well, his discipline, focus, and consistency truly struck me from day one. I first found Scott when I was seeking an FRC-certified trainer to help with some knee problems. He really took the time to sit down with me and figure out an approach that would work. Over the course of 5 months, we progressed from mobility-focused joint work to a more traditional athletic strength training program, meanwhile isolating and addressing the causes for my issues. My pain totally cleared, I (intentionally) gained 10+ lb of mass to support my specific movement needs, and built a wealth of knowledge. Although I had to stop working with him due to moving out of state, I'm now able to continue my programming all on my own with a confidence and clarity I never had before.

“When I reached out to Self Liberation Strength, I wanted to address my general feeling of weakness, my low body weight, the tightness in my hips and shoulders, and my low stamina/endurance. I was feeling pretty miserable and hopeless, like I wasn’t sure how to crawl out from the hole I had found myself in fitness-wise. Scott showed me the areas where I had the least range of motion and set me on a bi-weekly routine to address my stiffness as well as build back strength and mass. I was able to gain nearly 10lbs in the 3 months I trained at SLS. My hip and shoulder mobility improved and a lot of my daily pain was diminished.
